A Fossil Conversation:
The beach at Charmouth

Guided Fossil Walks.
A private fossil hunting walk lasts about 2 hours and starts either from Lyme Regis or Charmouth.
At the start of the walk there is short talk about the fossils with samples of the types of fossils that you could find.
Please wear sensible footwear and come dressed for the weather conditions of the day. Please arrive on time as while I can wait unfortunately the tide does not.

If you would like to combine the walk with some Rock pooling or an emphasis on Mary Anning please let me know.

Where do the fossil walks start from?
Charmouth
I will meet you by the wooden pedestrian bridge that is at the bottom of the large car park, on the left as you drive down to the beach at Charmouth.
Lyme Regis
In Lyme Regis, the fossil walks start at the "old sea anchor" monument at the bottom of the town, next to the town clock.

How long does a fossil walk last?
A fossil hunting walk will last about 2 hours, although you can remain on the beach after the walk, to continue hunting.

What do we get for our money?
The service of an experienced fossil guide, a laminated fossil identification chart and hopefully a bag of fossils.
